'Small Game, Big Dream' Launches

2018-09-08

'Small Game, Big Dream', the cooperative project between Beijing Municipal Education Committee and Bejing Sinobo Guoan F.C., was launched at the Workers' Stadium in the morning of 8 September 2018, making Sinobo Guoan the first professional football club to participate in the popularization of campus football in China.

"In my opinion, football should be a part of education", suggested by Mr. Jinhui Zhou, Chairman of Sinobo Group and Beijing Sinobo Guoan Football Club. "Football should be a vehicle of humanistic education, therefore we should attach more importance to the popularization of the sport than to the performance of the youngsters in the implementation of this project."

5,000 teams featuring 25,000 players are expected to participate in this project by June 2019, who will play a total of 150,000 games. In particular, each young player will be able to play at least 60 games. By the end of 2019, the project should cover 500 primary schools and 100,000 students. In the future, we are looking forward to including 250,000 students of 1,000 primary schools from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Region.

The club also deposited an initial fund of 16 million RMB in China Next Generation Education Foundation to ensure the long-term implementation of this project.
